This is genuine woven seat moquette from modern London buses, including Superloop services. Look closely at its red, black and grey rectangles and you can spot the TfL roundel woven into the pattern. The fabric is also known as Buses 2016.

Over a century of London Transport design

London General Omnibus Company adopted its familiar red in 1908. When London Transport was formed in 1933, red city buses and green country buses became part of the organisation's visual identity. Historic moquettes such as Fossil and Colindale brought red and green together in their patterns. The modern fabric keeps that unmistakable red alongside black and grey, colours that echo the glass, steel and concrete of today's London.

Its rectangles are the same size as those in the classic Misha Black District Line moquette, but turned vertically: a visual connection between generations of London Transport design.
