Blue Straub captures the confidence and creativity of London's transport design. Its distinctive geometric pattern of rich blues, turquoise and greens appeared on Victoria, Bakerloo and Northern line trains and London Transport buses.

Designed by Marianne Straub (1909–1994), whose work ranged from the 1951 Festival of Britain to ocean liner interiors and the Victoria Line, the fabric belongs to a proud tradition of outstanding design in everyday London life. The Victoria Line was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in March 1969, a moment that celebrated London's ambition and innovation.
