Los Angeles MultipliCity Moquette Fabric – Sold by the Metre

LA is a place you can fall for before you’ve ever been. The movies, the ocean, the golden light—the possibility of a different life. MultipliCity brings a little of that irresistible California allure into your home, in a design full of colour, curiosity and confidence.

A shape reminiscent of a Ferris wheel. Sweeping curls and playful silhouettes. Bands of golden yellow, hot orange and Pacific blue. There’s a little of the fairground about MultipliCity—the pleasure of looking, discovering and letting your imagination take over.

Originally created for Los Angeles Metro buses, this design has a remarkable amount of thought behind its playfulness. An artist and an architect researched historic transit tickets, choosing symbols that sparked their imagination. They developed a story in 47 scenes, one for each stop along a bus route, then transformed selected symbols into the abstract shapes woven into the seats. Accompanying panels inside the buses told the stories, connecting what passengers sat on with the journey unfolding around them.

That’s what makes it so engaging: something as ordinary as a bus seat became part of a carefully imagined artwork, offering a moment of discovery on the way to work, to meet a friend or to head home.

Imagine those fabulous colours across a footstool, bringing a favourite chair back to life or becoming cushions you’ve made yourself. MultipliCity gives you something full of personality to work with: bold shapes, rich woven texture and a story worth sharing.

Originally designed for busy Los Angeles buses, its hard-wearing moquette brings practical substance to all that California colour. You choose where the next chapter happens.
