British Rail Blue Blaze Moquette Cushion (blaize blue)
Of the more modern day moquette designs, British Rail’s “Blue Blaze” will be instantly associated with the BR mega-region, known as Network SouthEast (NSE). It covered an area stretching from King’s Lynn in Norfolk to Exeter in Devon - even the Isle of Wight and London’s Waterloo and City line. Over 900 stations sported the rather patriotic NSE livery and welcomed trains fitted with this seat moquette, which was applied to trains in their Second Class compartments. Blues - a blaze of blues, in fact - and reminiscent of a toothpaste, it began being used in 1986 and was still on seats until 2017. The sheer size of the Network SouthEast region means Blue Blaze was used on more trains than any other moquette in history. It was popular for a reason - durable, ageless, utterly pleasing on the eye - and it could adorn your home too.

Moquette is super-duper tough. If it gets a bit dirty, a good firm brush should do the job... For something really stubborn try some carpet cleaner. If in doubt - drop us a line.
