Transport Tales Volume 4 - Guinness and a Whiskey Chaser #transorttales

Last week we had a pre-covid tale when Brexit was the topic of the time. This week, following a similar theme - from our St Paddy's Day Giveaway, we have an Irish tale with a somewhat tenuous transportation link from Katherine in Somerset:
I have a story about when I was in Ireland!
My husband was working in a conference and I had both our children (who were both under two) in a double buggy. I’d been walking them around to get them to sleep for ages (they both woke up at 5 am)
I finally got them to sleep AND found a pub to get a pint of Guinness. However it was up about a dozen steps.
I think I must’ve looked so sad, tired and defeated, that one of the barman came down to ask if I was okay…. And no joke he just picked the double buggy up, walked upstairs through the doors of the pub and parked them quietly in a corner. He bought me a Guinness and a whiskey chaser on the house. I cried and spent an hour having a wonderful break!
🍀🍺♥️
(apologies for the tenuous transportation story… A buggy has got wheels right? 🤣)
