British Rail Trojan Moquette Fabric Sold by the Metre

You can’t help but think of train trips to your auntie’s house by the seaside when you spot a moquette cushion made of Trojan. It was introduced on British Rail’s Kent lines from 1958 and was still used until the 1980s, so it’s earned its place in the moquette hall of fame. Nearly every Mark 1 carriage ever built for British Rail carried the Trojan moquette in its Second (or Standard) Class sections. Red, black, blue, white and yellow lines on a grey background give huge scope to fit the colour scheme of your home, but it’s the nostalgia this moquette conjures up that’s perhaps the most powerful thing about it.
