british-rail-trojan-moquette-fabric-sold-by-the-metre
British Rail Trojan Moquette Fabric Sold by the Metre

You can’t help but think of train trips to your auntie’s house by the seaside when you spot a moquette cushion made of Trojan. It was introduced on British Rail’s Kent lines from 1958 and was still used until the 1980s, so it’s earned its place in the moquette hall of fame. Nearly every Mark 1 carriage ever built for British Rail carried the Trojan moquette in its Second (or Standard) Class sections. Red, black, blue, white and yellow lines on a grey background give huge scope to fit the colour scheme of your home, but it’s the nostalgia this moquette conjures up that’s perhaps the most powerful thing about it. If you know Trojan, you probably love it. And if you don’t, why not? It’s a piece of design and textile history.

Perhaps the most rewarding projects are the ones you design and complete yourself. We sell moquette off the roll, by the linear metre, for your own upholstery and handicraft endeavours. Whether you fancy a set of 4 dining chairs in your favourite design, a footstool in that fabric you travelled to school on or even your own crafting in the fabric you fell in love on , we have rolls of moquette to choose from. Top tip: Moquette looks great when mounted and framed too.

Width is 125cm and all orders are sent as a continuous piece unless otherwise agreed.

Free UK standard delivery. International shipping calculated at checkout.
